Spring in February and Winter in March

Posted by Lisa Belsky at

Looking back to this past winter of 2016/2017 in Long Island, NY, we were actually pretty lucky.  There were only a few weeks with cold temperatures.  For the most part, we were able to venture outside without too many excess warm layers.

February came with the Groundhog predicting 6 more weeks of Winter.  We were  all confused.  We hardly even had any Winter at all. We had been spoiled with warm weather over the course of the winter, and now 6 more weeks? Of What?  We all learned pretty soon.  The 2 snowstorms that we experienced in NY were actually both after Groundhog’s Day.

However, even after the first snowstorm in February, the weather warmed up once again.  Toward the end of the month, we got to experience unseasonably warm weather; weather actually mimicking Spring.  We happily embraced this gift and enjoyed spending time outdoors.

This, we would soon learn was just a tease, for once again, the weather turned frigid in March and we were acquainted with Storm Stella.  Now, in the aftermath of the storm, we are quite weary of the weather once again.  The extended forecast is a depressing one, showing continuous cold weather.  When will Spring return for good? Right now, we can only hope….

As we yearn for Spring and warmer weather, here are a few new items from our Spring and Summer collection to brighten up your days:

Prompt delivery of these lovely salad servers, but they arrived scratched up. Have submitted photos and a request to return them but have had no response yet. Can’t give as a wedding gift when the finish on handles is already scratched. Disappointed.
